Kazuo Kamimura ( Japanese 上 村 一夫 Kamimura Kazuo , March 7, 1940 - January 11, 1986 ) - mangaka , author of the Seinen manga and gekigi . For his artistic mastery he was nicknamed the "master of the Sow period " [1] .

He is known in the West thanks to the manga Lady Snowblood (1972-1974), created by him according to the script by Kazuo Koike and published in the 1970s in Weekly Playboy magazine [2] .
Biography
Born in the city of Yokosuka [3] . Educated at Musashino University of the Arts at the Department of Design, illustrated advertisements for the Senkosya Advertising Agency ( 宣 弘 社 ). After graduating in 1964, he began to draw manga. He made his debut with the work of Kawaiko Sayuri-chan no daraku ( カ ワ イ コ 小百合 ち ゃ ん の 堕落 ) in 1967 in the monthly magazine Town ( 月刊 タ タ ウ ン geckan town ) [3] . Since 1968, he collaborated with the writer Yu Aku, a former colleague from Senkoshi [3] , and later with other authors, including Kadziyama Toshiyuki , Kazuo Koike , Norifumi Suzuki , Shuji Terayama . Success came to him with the publication of Dosei jidai ( 同 棲 時代 do: Sei Jidai ) in 1972. He died of cancer at the age of 45 years [3] .
