Barium tristannide forms crystals of hexagonal syngony , space group P 6 3 / mmc , cell parameters a = 0.72279 nm, c = 0.5469 nm, Z = 1, stannide type trinickel NiSn 3 [2] [3] [4] .
The compound is formed by a peritectic reaction at a temperature of ≈660 ° C [3] (715 ° C [4] ).
