Career

In 1968, Abrahams, along with Jethro Tull, recorded This Was . Shortly after the release of this album, Mick was forced to leave the group, due to conflicts that he and Ian Anderson had over the band’s musical direction [1] [2] . Abrahams wanted to move in the direction of blues rock, while Anderson wanted to bring elements of jazz and folk into the sound of the group. Mick was originally replaced by Tony Iommi , but he left Jethro Tull after a few weeks, and soon he was replaced by Martin Barr , who subsequently played until the band broke up in 2014.

After leaving the band, Abrahams founded the Blodwyn Pig band and recorded two albums with it: Ahead Rings Out (1969) and Getting to This (1970). In 1970, the group broke up. Then Abrahams formed the Mick Abrahams Band , which included some Blodwyn Pig musicians and released a number of albums under that name. He worked as a driver, lifeguard and financial consultant, and also gave concerts from time to time at Dunstable , in Bedfordshire [3] .

In the late 1990s, Abrahams caused a lot of controversy among fans over creating the group 'This Was', which included members of the original Jethro Tull lineup (except Ian Anderson) and the entire Jethro Tull repertoire written during that period. Fans of Tull were disapproving of this venture, but Anderson apparently wasn’t very offended, because in recent years, Abrahams and Ian have often acted as guest musicians from each other. Abrahams has also participated in various Jethro Tull reunions for many years and has performed with various concert projects.

According to reports on its official website, in November 2009, Mick suffered a heart attack and was supposed to recover quickly. In April 2010, the official website announced that he had had Meniere's disease , which delayed his return to the music industry for another year. In December 2013, he announced that he was still experiencing health problems, but, nevertheless, despite all this, he hopes to release his solo album in 2014.

In 2015, the musician announced his new album - Revived! . As a guest on the album, Martin Barr was noted, who at one time replaced Mick in Jethro Tull [4] .
