Ahmed Mammadrza oglu Bakikhanov ( azerb. Əhməd Məmmədrza oğlu Bakıxanov ; 1892 , Baku - 1973 , ibid.) - Azerbaijani tarist , teacher, music figure. People's Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR ( 1973 ), Honored Educator of Azerbaijan ( 1943 ), Honored Art Worker of the Azerbaijan SSR (1964) [1] .

Biography
Born on September 5, 1892 in Baku. He began his pedagogical activity in 1920 . In the 1920s and 30s . created a number of musical ensembles [1] . Since 1930, at the invitation of prominent Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibeyov, he began teaching mugs at the Azerbaijan State Conservatory [2] .
In 1941, at the initiative of Hajibeyov, he created an ensemble of folk instruments and was its leader until the end of his life [1] . This ensemble gave great concert programs with such mugham masters as Seyid Shushinsky , Huseynkuli Sarabsky , Jabbar Karyagdyoglu , Zulfugar Adigyozalov and others [2] .
Bakikhanov compiled a mugam program for music schools. He is the author and compiler of the collections “Azerbaijan National Ranges” ( 1964 ), “Azerbaijan Rhythmic Mugams” ( 1968 ), “Mugam, Song, Rank” ( 1975 ) [1] .
March 26, 1973 Akhmedov Bakikhanov died [2] .
Memory
Since 1973, the ensemble created by Bakikhanov in 1941 bears his name [1] [2] .
The name of Bakikhanov is held by the Children's Music School No. 6 in Baku [3] .
In 1982, the Children's Art School was created in the city of Sumgayit [4] .
A memorial plaque is installed on the wall of the house in which Bakikhanov lived.
The tar, owned by Akhmed Bakikhanov, is kept at the Museum of the History of Azerbaijan in Baku.
In 1994, in connection with the centennial of Bakikhanov, a Republican contest was held among students performing mugam on containers [2] .
In 2003, the Akhmed Bakikhanov documentary, dedicated to the life and work of Bakikhanov, was shot by the Azerbaijan Television Film Union by the state television [5] .
