73rd Air Army (USSR)

The 73rd Air Army is a front-line aviation aviation association designed to solve combat missions (conduct combat operations) in cooperation (in joint operations) with other types of the USSR Armed Forces , as well as conduct independent air operations .

Content

Formation

The 6th Air Army (of the first formation) , which existed during the Great Patriotic War, in 1944 was aimed at the formation of the Polish Army . The second formation of the 6th Air Army was begun in 1946 on the basis of the air force of the Turkestan military district . After its formation, according to the directive of the General Staff on February 20, 1949, the army was renamed the 73rd Air Army [1] .
