History
The launch of the Polsat News TV channel took place on June 7, 2008 at 7:00. This was the first Polish TV channel broadcasting in 16: 9 format. Testing was completed by July 14, 2008 , at the same time the official opening of the channel took place. From the very beginning, all data was transmitted in unencrypted form so that cable broadcasting was carried out in full without pauses and slowdowns. On August 1, 2008 , an advertisement began to appear on the channel. On March 1, 2009, data began to be transmitted in encrypted form using Nagravision 3 technology, compatible with the Cyfrowy Polsat platform.
All programs go live from 5:58 to 23:50. News is published every half hour (in the morning in the Nowy dzień program they are published every 15 minutes). The channel has more than 400 people, of which about half work directly in the editorial office. The broadcasting grid is divided into morning, afternoon and evening blocks, when the programs Nowy dzień (from Polish - “New Day”), “To jest dzień” (from Polish - “Such a day”) and “To był dzień "(from Polish. - " That was the day "). The main information program is “Wydarzenia” (from Polish - “Events”). The highest-rated program is Gość Wydarzeń (in Polish , “Guest of Events”), aired immediately after Wydarzenia (58 thousand viewers per day) [3] . The replay of the programs goes from 5:58 to Polsat (until 8:15 from Monday to Friday), Polsat 2 (until 7:45 on weekends and holidays) and Polsat News Plus (until 10:00). A replay of the program “To jest dzień” is shown at night on TV4.
Since September 1, 2010, the Polsat News channel has been available on the Cyfra + platform on Channel 8. Since May 5, 2011 - on channel 17. The audience in 2010 was 38 thousand people (0.62% of viewers) and put the channel on the 19th place in the rating [4] . HD broadcasting has been underway since February 3, 2014 [5] .
Collaboration
Polsat News actively collaborated with the American television channel CNN and used their materials to prepare news releases. According to data from its press release, Polsat created training groups from journalists, reporters and cameramen who were interns at CNN, and also invited employees from the United States [6] . Since July 2011, cooperation with CNN has been discontinued, and today the main partner is TVN Group.
Studio
On June 6, 2008 , a new television studio was opened, which cost Polsat about 6 million euros. The central table is made in the shape of an arrow - one of the symbols of the television company; it is behind him that the leading news releases of Wydarzenia are located . Nearby is a table of slightly smaller sizes, at which the hosts of the Sport and Interwencja Extra programs work, and a small coffee table. In the studio, news releases are recorded at 15:50 and 18:50, which are re-released on the Polsat and Polsat 2 TV channels.
