The 76th Red Banner Air Army ( 76th VA ) is the operational association of the Air Force of the USSR, designed for joint operations with other branches of the Armed Forces and the combat arms of the USSR Armed Forces, as well as solving independent operational and strategic tasks, after the collapse The USSR became part of the Air Force of Russia.

The Air Army was formed on January 10, 1949 on the basis of the Directive of the General Staff No. org / 1/120016 of January 10, 1949 by the reorganization of the 13th Air Army.

Reformation
- In connection with the reform of the Armed Forces, on June 1, 1998, the army was merged with the 6th separate Red Banner Air Defense Army and received the name 6th Air Force and Air Defense Army and received the name 6th Air Force and Air Defense Army .
- On September 13, 2005, the 6th Red Banner Army of the Air Force and Air Defense was given an honorary name by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation and it became known as the 6th Leningrad Red Banner Army of the Air Force and Air Defense;

In 1968, the 26th Guards Fighter-Bomber Aviation Regiment was transferred to the 1st Air Army , and in December, the 66th Fighter-Bomber Aviation Regiment was formed at Pushkin Airport, which was relocated to the Veshchevo airfield in 1978.

Rewards
