Rakusha is a former village in the Lagansky district of the Republic of Kalmykia . The village was located on the Caspian lowland on the southern shore of the Lagansky Bank, southeast of the village of Lagan . Currently, the southeastern part of Lagani. To the south-east of the village were the villages of Rakusha Russkaya and Rakusha Kalmyk [1] .

History
The date of establishment is not established. The village of Rakusha was transferred to the Kalmyk Autonomous Region on May 9, 1927 [2] . It was first noted on the American military map of the vicinity of Astrakhan in 1943 [3] . Since 1930, it belonged to the Primorsky ulus of the Kalmyk Autonomous Okrug, since 1935 to the Lagansky ulus of the Kalmyk Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. As of November 1, 1929, a parish school operated in Rakusz. Since 1932 - an elementary Russian school [4] .
On December 28, 1943, the Kalmyk population of the village was deported , the village, like other settlements of the Lagansky ulus, was included in the Astrakhan region . In 1950, a seven-year school was opened [4] .
Since 1956, after the lifting of restrictions on movement to the territory of the former Kalmyk ASSR, Kalmyks began to return [5] . In 1957, the village was transferred to the newly formed Kalmyk Autonomous Region . In 1961, the local school received eight-year status [4] . Subsequently, the village was included in the working community of the Caspian .
The toponym "Rakusha" is preserved in the name of Rakushinskaya street in the southeastern part of Lagani [6] .
