Project Features
The training of sailors in Soviet times required a significant amount of regular equipment. Given that in the 1980s. If the USSR Navy was re-equipped, it was impossible to ensure the release of equipment on its own, so a decision was made to order the Polish government to build 21 units of training ships of the UK project.
Ship History
The vessel throughout the entire period of operation is used as a training machine to train the skills of future sailors.
Since 1996, in addition to training purposes, it has been used as a floating barracks for sailors. Due to the distribution of the Black Sea Fleet, in 1997 it was transferred to the Ukrainian Navy , where it received a new name - “Chyhyryn” (tail number U-540).
After the annexation of Crimea to the Russian Federation, the boat passed under the command of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy. On April 29, he was withdrawn from the Streletskaya Bay in Sevastopol with the aim of transferring him, upon overcoming the 12-mile zone, to the Ukrainians and further towing to Odessa .

Over the boat, according to the decree of the President of Ukraine dated September 27, 2010 No. 918/2010, patronage of the Chigirinsky district state administration was established.
