History
The first mention of the wooden church dates back to the second half of the 18th century.
The stone one-domed three-altar church with a long-tiered bell tower (not preserved) was built in the village of Bolshoy Vorobyevo in 1823. The right and left aisles were dedicated to the saints Nicholas the Wonderworker and John the Merciful, respectively.
In the church in the second half of the 19th century, the famous preacher and enlightener Ambrose Archbishop of Tver and Kashinsky served.
Bolshevik power closed the temple in 1928.
In Soviet times, the domed part and the bell tower were broken, the building was partially rebuilt and used for household needs.
Before the collapse of the roof in 2013, the building housed an electric mill, a granary.

Recovery
- December 4, 2012 - a memorial cross was consecrated near the church at the site of the destroyed cemetery, the first prayer service and lithium were served.
- August 2, 2013 - a moleben at the cross is served.
- July 9, 2014 - a moleben was served in the right chapel cleared of debris.
The restoration began from the day when the inhabitants of the settlement erected a Poklonnaya Cross near the temple. Since the summer of 2014, the voluntary association of young people at the PCRDM of Danilov Monastery Restavros helps to restore the church. The head of the Restavros detachment, Yuri Osipov, a design engineer by profession, having talked with local historian Natalya Borodulina, drew up a restoration plan, received permission to restore and bless the priests. The priorities were identified, and in June 2014, Yuri and his wife Svetlana already placed a volunteer brigade in their summer house.
Thanks to their work, soon double-glazed windows appeared in the windows of the temple, in the places of collapses, supports from the timber were installed, trees were cut and partially uprooted, the construction of the blind area began. There were voids at the corners of the building, in one place there was even no cornerstone . As the locals say, treasure lovers have been here more than once. Knowing the custom of putting jewels in the temple under the foundation, they hoped to profit.
So that there was something to close the gap, one summer resident dismantled her stove and brought bricks to the construction site, another summer resident made beautiful large candlesticks from wood, the third gave a tractor cart, the fourth - boards. There were specialists who helped to carry out professional work.
July 9, 2014, on the feast of the Tikhvin Icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary , Father John from the St. Nicholas Church of Kesovaya Gora for the first time since 1930, here, in the right, St. Nicholas chapel, served a water sanctuary with an akathist . After the prayer service at the Poklonnaya Cross, a memorial lithium was served. [2]
