Story
A talented young man Balakrishna (Balu) from a low-income family dreams of becoming a professional dancer of classical Indian dances in the styles of kuchipudi , bharatanatyam , kathak . However, simple and honest by nature, it is difficult to break into the world of show business, where success often requires compromising moral principles. Once, in one of the temples, a young visiting girl Madhavi sees his dance. Young people spend a lot of time together, doing classical dances. Madhavi is delighted with Balu's talent and, being from a wealthy family, helps him get the opportunity to participate in the classical dance festival.
Two days before the festival, Balu's elderly mother dies from poverty and suffering. The young man, very fond of his mother, is morally devastated and unable to participate in the festival. Gradually, Balu falls in love with Madhavi, she reciprocates, but it turns out that Madhavi is a married woman living separately from her husband. Madhavi's husband comes for his wife and tries to save their marriage. Madhavi decides to return to her husband, and Balu sacrifices his love out of respect for the institution of marriage.
After many years, their fates intersect again. Baloo is lonely and broken by life. He did not manage to break into the world of show business, he had long stopped dancing and became a critic. The loss of a beloved for him is equivalent to a loss of interest in life. Baloo is gradually drunk, his health is deteriorating. Once an unknown wealthy married woman begins to patronize him, inviting him to become the guru (teacher, teacher) of his daughter, the beginning talented dancer Sailaji. Balu agrees and begins to engage with Silaja. Their classes are not easy, as Baloo is too demanding on the student in the hope of achieving the best professional result from her. By chance, Balu learns that the mother of Sailaji is Madhavi. During one of her student’s performances, Balu sees her dancing successes and dies behind the scenes.
