Berlin ( Latin Berlinia ) is a genus of woody plants of the legume family ( Fabaceae ). Distributed in tropical regions of Africa.

Title
The genus of plants is named by the Swedish naturalist Daniel Solander (1733–1782) in honor of another Swedish naturalist, a pupil of Solander and Carl Linnaeus , Anders Berlin (1746–1773), who traveled around Sierra Leone in 1771–1773.
Botanical description
Unbranched evergreen trees . Leaves are odoriferous, with stipules at the base. The leaflets are opposite, in 2–5 pairs, on short petioles, sometimes unequally, in some species with translucent specks.
Inflorescences are brushes or brushes of brushes. Bracts non-falling, developed, among 2. A cup of 5 almost equal sepals. The corolla is pyatilepestkovy, the upper one is most developed, the others are almost completely reduced, less often all developed. Stamens in 10, of which 9 are accrete at the base, 1 is free. Ovary with 2-8 ovules.
The bob is revealed on two woody shutters. Seeds are flattened, elliptical, narrowly ovoid or angular.

African tropical genus. The greatest species diversity is observed in central and western Africa .
