History
Kant is one of the oldest ways to decorate clothes. So, Rehak observes edging on the frescoes of the new palace period in Knossos (the second millennium BC) [4] .
Kant acquired a new popularity in everyday clothes in the 19th century: around 1822, the practice of using a fold of matter with an extended cord in muslin dresses became widespread, and decoration became popular by the 1840s. In a men's suit, this finish was imitated by sheathing the edges of clothes with a narrow cord.
By the end of the 19th century, the popularity of Kant in casual wear had faded, although in the 21st century it continued to be widely used in uniforms.
Technology
The fabric edging is cut along the oblique thread and sewn to the clothes so that the edging does not protrude more than 2-3 mm. Sometimes a lace pulls into the fabric edging.
