Geography

The village is located on the left bank of the Amta-Burgusta River, 12 km east of the village of Ketchener .

History

The date of foundation of the settlement has not been established. It can be assumed that the settled settlement arose in the 1920s as part of the policy of transferring the indigenous population to a settled lifestyle. First marked on the American military map of 1941 [3] . On the administrative map of the Astrakhan region in 1956 is designated as the village of Experienced [4] . Under the same name is indicated on the administrative map of the Stavropol Territory in 1958 [5] .

In 1961, by a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR, the village of Experimental was renamed Burgsun [6] .

According to the 2002 census, the majority of the population of the village were Kalmyks (80%) [9]
