Khatanga district is the former region of the Taimyr (Dolgan-Nenets) Autonomous District , which was abolished in 2006. [2]

The administrative center of the district was the village of Khatanga .
History
Khatanga region was formed in 1927. In 1930 it was assigned to the Taimyr National District . In 1964, part of the abolished Avam region was annexed to the Khatanga district. After the liquidation of the district in 2006, its territory was transferred to the rural settlement of Khatanga, Taimyr District, Krasnoyarsk Territory .
According to 1983, the Khatanga district was divided into 11 village councils:
