He graduated from the Saratov Agricultural Institute (1923), left to teach. Head Department of Fruit Growing, Professor (1930). Organizer of the Faculty of Horticulture (1930) and his first dean.
Doctor S.-kh. sciences (1947). The author of works on soil and environmental justification for the placement of gardens in the Lower Volga region.
Member of the State Commission for variety testing of fruit crops and grapes at the Ministry of Agriculture of the RSFSR.
Author of textbooks and non-fiction books on gardening.
He was awarded the Orders of Lenin and the Badge of Honor, and medals. Honored Scientist of the RSFSR.
