The 4th European Championships in Men's Gymnastics was held on August 13, 1961 in Luxembourg . It was attended by 41 gymnasts from 22 countries. The tournament was called the European Cup, awards were played in individual all-around and in individual exercises. In 1969, the International Gymnastics Federation granted these competitions the status of the fourth European Men's Championship.
