Azanchevsky, Pavel Matveevich

Pavel Matveevich Azanchevsky ( October 15, 1789 - October 11, 1866 [1] ) - Russian writer, author of articles on agronomy , state adviser [2] .

Born October 15, 1789 in a noble family [3] . Having received a home education, on January 4, 1805 he began serving as an actuary in the College of Foreign Affairs. December 7, 1811 moved to the Moscow archive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs . During the Patriotic War of 1812 he was in the militia, at the beginning of 1813 he returned to Moscow.

He served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs together with A. S. Pushkin [4] . At his wedding, he was “guarantor for the bride” to N. N. Goncharov [1] . At the coronation of Nicholas I was among the heralds.

In 1833 he left the service, devoting leisure time to the household and writing [2] . In the Bronnitsky district of the Moscow province, he was engaged in the arrangement of the family estate of Trinity-Lobanovo (now in ruins). He had three daughters (Tatyana, Zoya, Maria and Vera) and three sons (Matvey, Nikolai, Mikhail and Titus) [5] . The youngest son, Mikhail Azanchevsky , became the director of the St. Petersburg Conservatory [2] [6] .
