Biography
Vladlen Hajiyev was born on December 25, 1929 in a village. Shovkra, Lak district of the Dagestan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. In 1951 he graduated from the Faculty of History of Moscow State University. M. V. Lomonosov . After completing postgraduate studies in 1955, he defended his thesis, and in 1960 - his doctoral dissertation. For more than 40 years he was in charge of the sector, the department of the history of the pre-Soviet period of the Dagestan branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences (now the Dagestan Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences ) [4] .

Hajiyev is the author of about 300 scientific monographs and articles on the problems of the history of the Caucasus.
