Botanical Description
Perennial herbaceous plant 50-65 cm tall. Leaves are lanceolate-linear or linear, up to 4 cm long and 1-2.5 mm wide, with veins [3] .
Single flowers . Bracts of 4-6, ovate-lanceolate, drawn into a short awl-shaped pointed, white membranous at the edges. The cup is cylindrical, up to 23 mm long. Petals 5-8 mm long and about 3 mm wide, reddish above, yellowish-greenish below. Propagated by seeds [3] .
Described from the vicinity of Mineralnye Vody [3] .
Ecology and distribution
It lives on dry grassy slopes and in bushes [3] .
Endemic of the Greater Caucasus . In Russia it is found in the Stavropol Territory and Dagestan . It is found abroad in Azerbaijan and Armenia [3] [4] .
Guard Status
It is listed in the Red Book of the Stavropol Territory . Also protected in Armenia [4] .
