Tripol Thermal Power Station is the most powerful power station in the Kiev region . Kiev region belongs to energy-saturated areas. Energy generating enterprises with a total capacity of 3,600 MW are located on its territory, of which the installed capacity of Tripol TPP is about 57%. Therefore, the energy generating company is the largest supplier of electricity to the Kiev, Cherkasy and Zhytomyr regions. The company covers an area of 281.3 hectares. located in Obukhov district.

Power Station
Tripol TPP has 4 pulverized coal and 2 gas-oil blocks with a capacity of 300 MW each. Six turbines and generators with a total nominal capacity of 1800 MW. Type transformers - TDTs-400000/330.
The fuel economy has an open coal storage with a capacity of 1 million tons and is serviced by two gantry cranes and bulldozers.
The main fuel is the Donetsk anthracite block coming by rail and by river to the station berth.
The station is connected to the gas transport system of Ukraine. The fuel economy also includes fuel oil storage.
History
The Yuzhteploenergomontazh, Gidroelektromontazh, Gidromekhanizatsiya, Yugozapaptransstroy trusts and many others took part in the construction of the station.
Much work on the analysis of the project, commissioning and commissioning of the equipment was carried out by the LvivORGRES enterprise
The construction of the power plant was carried out by a progressive flow-speed method. This method has significantly reduced the construction time of the power plant.
- In January 1962, the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR approved a site for the construction of a power plant.
- 1963 - design and start of construction of Tripol TPP.
- April 2, 1967 - the construction of the main facilities of the station began. The station was built in two stages. At first, double-shell boilers operating on solid fuel and natural gas were installed, and secondly, single-shell gas-oil boilers.
- December 17, 1969 - the first TPP power unit was put into commercial operation.
- In September 1972, the last sixth power unit was commissioned. The capacity of Tripol TPP reached a design value of 1800 MW.
- 1973 - the construction of an underwater gas pipeline was completed. Tripol TPP got the opportunity to use natural gas.
- In 1995 Tripol TPP became a part of the created Centrenergo State Enterprise.
- 2000 - technical solutions were implemented to ensure the burning of low-grade coal with Qнр = 3000 kcal / kg.
- 2017 - the station was suspended.
The company annually sells energy in the amount of about 2 billion UAH. Carries out current, medium and capital repairs of power units. In 2010, from June 17 to October 29, a major overhaul of the second power unit was carried out.
The technical re-equipment of the second power unit will make it possible to use exclusively coal for its operation - without using gas, with increasing the power of the power unit from 300 MW to 325 MW and extending its life by 15-20 years.
Tripol TPP is located on the Dnieper coast, 13 km south of Kiev, near the village of Tripoli. Some sources deliberately falsely indicate a distance of 45 km. After the decommissioning of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, Tripolskaya TPP with an installed capacity of 1800 MW is the largest energy generating facility in the Kiev region. Other sources of electricity in the region are the Kiev TPP-5 (Ukrainian) and the Kiev TPP-6 (Ukrainian) with a capacity of 700 MW and 500 MW, respectively, and the Darnitskaya TPP (Ukrainian) with an installed capacity of 160 MW located in Kiev. The power plant is built in two phases. The first stage is 4 double blocks with a capacity of 300 MW each. The power unit consists of two-case forward flow steam boilers TPP-210A, steam turbines K-300-240, TGV-300 generators and transformers TDTs-400000/330.
The second stage - two monoblocks with a capacity of 300 MW each with single-case boilers TGMP-314, K-300-240-2 turbines, generators and transformers similar to those installed in the first stage. The main building was built according to the universal design of a coal-fired thermal power plant with 300 MW power units each. The main fuel is the Donetsk anthracite bayonet supplied by rail. Reserve fuel and backlight fuel - gas, fuel oil.
The gas sector owns two gas distribution points with a capacity of 320 thousand m³ / h each. The technical water supply system is direct-flow, with water intake from the Kanevsky reservoir . It consists of two pumping stations. Water treatment at TPPs provides the preparation of 250 t / h of demineralized water by the ion-exchange method for once-through boilers.
Since the start of operation, Tripol TPP has generated more than 350 billion kWh of electricity and 5.5 million Gcal of teppa.
The satellite city of Tripoli TPP is the city of Ukrainka with a population of about 20,000 people.
TPP is constantly working on the use of secondary raw materials - ash and slag for the needs of the national economy for filling roads, the manufacture of building materials. Tripol TPP has established itself as one of the most reliable and economical stations in Ukraine.
At Tripolskaya TPP, there is a need for further reconstruction of equipment. PJSC "Centrenergo" implements a project for the reconstruction of the pulverized coal power unit No. 2 of Tripol TPP. The purpose of the reconstruction is to increase its efficiency, reliability, safety, extend the life of the equipment, as well as reduce emissions of harmful substances to the level of European standards.
