Biography
Henry was the eldest of the four sons of Zhoselin de Louvain , who moved from Louvain to England to his sister Adelyse , 2nd wife of King Heinrich I Boklerk , and Agnes de Percy , descended from the Anglo-Norman family of Percy , the progenitor of which after the Normandy conquest received possession in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire . After the death of their father, William II, de Percy , Agnes and her husband Jocelyne were able to get most of Percy's possessions: manors in Yorkshire, [K 1] and Seemer in North Yorkshire , as well as a number of possessions in Lincolnshire and Hampshire. In addition, the children of Zhoselina and Agnes eventually learned the mother's generic name - Percy [1] [2] .
After the death of his father in 1180, Henry inherited his father’s possessions in ( Sussex ), as well as a number of mother’s possessions in Yorkshire [3] . He died no later than 1198 and was buried in the abbey of Saint-Lô in Normandy [2] .
Henry, in about 1180, married Isabella de Bruce, daughter of Adam II de Bruce , Baron Skelton, of the later Anglo-Scottish Bruce family. According to the act, dated to the period between 1190 and 1196, the father-in-law transferred real estate to the dowry of Isabella [2] .
At the time of Henry's death, the heir was still small, so the legacy of Percy was usurped by Richard de Percy , Henry's younger brother [4] . Henry’s widow, Isabella, remarried [2] .
