History
In the 1950s, a church community appeared in the city, headed by a priest, since the Russian settlement, long established in Urgench, felt the need for its own church organization.
In 1990, Vyacheslav Chechenov , rector of the St. Nicholas church ( Kagan city) was appointed to the church, then Leonid Kozin , rector of the church of St. Sergius of Radonezh ( Navoi ), served in the church.
From the beginning of the 2000s to 2007, the priest Sergiy Zavorotnev , rector of the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker ( Kagan ), served in the church.
Since 2007 - Hieromonk Nektariy (Blinov) .
In 2008, the first stone was laid in the foundation of the new temple.
In 2012, the priest Mark Matizov was appointed rector of the temple.
In 2014, the temple was built and is now finishing the interior. Near the temple, landscaping is underway.
