Biography

Born December 31, 1887 in Moscow in the family of a priest.

He graduated from the 7th Moscow gymnasium and in 1907 entered the medical faculty of Moscow University .

A medical student joined a biblical circle and was engaged in missionary work in Moscow. Freelance doctor in the village (1913).

In World War I, he worked at the front.

Being an active member of the Mayak Society and the Christian Union of Young People (YMCA), he received a special blessing from the Patriarch Tikhon for student missionary work.

After the revolution of 1917 he left with his family in Siberia, came to China. He participated in the congress of the World Student Federation in Beijing (1922).

He was sent to Europe to organize religious work among students in exile. Active member of the Russian Student Christian Movement (RSHD). Secretary of the Prague Student Christian Association. One of the organizers in 1923 of the first organizational congress of the RSHD in the town of Prerov (Czechoslovakia), where he was elected secretary of the RSHD.

In 1923-1925, he was the editor of the Spiritual World of Studentship, published by the RSHD in Prague and Paris (five issues in total).

By 1925 he moved to Paris, where he became a member of the constituent committee of the St. Sergius Compound in Paris . In the same year he was ordained deacon .

In 1934, the mountain was ordained a priest , appointed assistant rector of the Vvedensky church in Paris .

In 1935, he was appointed the second priest of the St. Nicholas Church at the Russian House in Saint Genevieve de Bois, where he helped in the service of Archpriest Alexander Kalashnikov. Since 1941 he became rector of this church.

In 1945, together with Metropolitan Eulogius (St. George), he came under the omophorion of the Moscow Patriarchate .

In 1946, unlike most clergy and believers, he remained in the bosom of the Russian Orthodox Church . In the same year he was elevated to the rank of archpriest .

In 1947, he was mentioned as rector of the Assumption Church at the Russian cemetery in Saint Genevieve de Bois near Paris, as well as the Church of St. Herman in Vilmuason (France).

Then he became rector of the St. Nicholas Church at the Russian House in Sainte-Genevieve-des-Bois in the jurisdiction of the Moscow Patriarchate .

In 1949-1953 - Member of the Council of the Exarchate of the Moscow Patriarchate in Western Europe.

In 1952 he entered the board of trustees of the Russian cemetery of Sainte-Genevieve-des-Bois .

He taught at the pastoral courses of the Patriarchal Exarchate , where he taught the New Testament course. He took part in the creation of textbooks of the “ Law of God ” (biblical sections).

In 1959 he visited Moscow, Patriarch Alexy I was awarded the Patriarchal Cross. The book “Forty Years Later”, published next year, is dedicated to this trip.

In 1960, Archpriest Leo Liperovsky broke paralysis . In recent years, he lived in the Russian house in Sainte-Genevieve-des-Bois.

He died on February 3, 1963 in Paris. He was buried in the cemetery of Saint-Genevieve-des-Bois.
