Shipka is a village in the Grigoriopol district of the unrecognized Transnistrian Moldavian Republic . The administrative center of the Shipkinsky village council , which in addition to the village of Shipka also includes the village of Vesyoloye .

Geography
The area of the village is about 5.93 km 2 , the perimeter is 4.07 km. The village is located 18 km from the city of Grigoriopol and 68 km from Chisinau .
History
The first documented mention of the village of Shipka is dated 1790.
The population of the village was heterogeneous from the very beginning. According to legend, this village was founded by Cossacks who migrated from the northern coast of the Black Sea at the end of the 18th century . The first residents were the families of Buzuk, Pasha, Baran, Gushan, the descendants of which can still be found in this village.
Population
According to 1997 data , 2497 people lived in the village of Shipka. For 2015 - 1668 people, and in the village of Veseloe 45 people. [3]
