Manz ( Kalm. Manz ) is a village (rural type) in the Priyutnensky district of Kalmykia , as part of the Narta rural municipality . The name of the village means Manych [2] and is probably related to the location of the village in Primanychye.

History
Date of establishment not established. On the map of the General Staff of the Red Army 1941 was marked as a collective farm named after the XVIII Party Congress [3] . On a 1984 map marked under the name Manz [4]
Physico-geographical characteristics
The village is located in the dry steppe zone, in the north of the central part of the Kumo-Manych depression , north of the Liman Malaya Kindya tract [5] , at an altitude of 39 meters above sea level [6] . The terrain is flat, has a slight slope to the south. On the territory of the village there is a pond. Field-protective forest stands are located to the west [5] . The soil cover is represented by light chestnut solonetzic and solonchak soils, solonetz (automorphic) [7]
By road, the distance to the capital of Kalmykia, the city of Elista is 57 km, to the district center of the village of Priyutnoe - 15 km, to the administrative center of the rural settlement of the village of Narta - 24 km [8] .

Like the entire Priyutnensky region, Modty is characterized by a temperate continental climate (according to the Köppen - Dfa climate classification ), with hot and arid summers and relatively cold and little snowy winters. The average annual temperature is positive and amounts to +9.9 ° C. The average temperature of the coldest month of January is 4.3 ° C, the hottest month of July + 24.6 ° C. The long-term rainfall is 359 mm. The least amount of precipitation falls in February (19 mm), the largest in June (50 mm) [9] .
