History
The date of foundation of the settlement has not been established. First marked on the map of the 1940 Red Army [3]
During the Great Patriotic War, Krasny Manych, like other settlements of the region, was briefly occupied (liberated in January 1943 ). On December 28, 1943, the Kalmyk population was deported . The village, like other settlements of the Yashalt ulus of the Kalmyk ASSR, was transferred to the Rostov region (returned to Kalmykia in 1957 ). By 1989, the population of the village was about 360 people [4] .
The deep financial and economic crisis of the 1990s led to a decrease in agricultural production and a sharp reduction in the population of the village.
Physico-geographical characteristics
The village is located in the north-west of the Yashalta region , within the borders of the Kumo-Manych depression , south of the Proletarsky reservoir , at an altitude of 25 m above sea level [1] . The terrain is flat. In the vicinity of the village, chernozems of low-power, low humus and dark chestnut soils of various particle size distribution are common [5] .
By road, the distance to the capital of Kalmykia, the city of Elista, is 200 km, to the district center of the village of Yashalta - 27 km, to the administrative center of the rural settlement of the village of Baga-Tugtun - 13 km [6] . The village is connected with the district center by a local highway Krasny Manych - Yashalta [7] .
According to the Köppen-Geiger classification of climates, the village is located in the continental climate zone with relatively cold winters and hot summers (Dfa index). The average annual rainfall is 439 mm, the highest rainfall in June is 49 mm, the smallest in March is 27 mm [1] .

According to the 2002 census, the majority of the population of the village were Russians (66%) [10]
Social Infrastructure
Medical care for the residents of the village is provided by the feldsher-midwife station and the Yashalt central district hospital [11] . The nearest emergency department is located in the village of Yashalta . The inhabitants of the village receive the basic general education at the Krasnoyanych primary comprehensive school, the secondary general at the Baga-Tugtun secondary comprehensive school [12] .
The village is electrified, but not gasified. There is a water supply system, but there is no centralized sewage system [7] .
