Biography
According to various sources, Shakir Abenov was born on the territory of the present Abay district of the East Kazakhstan region on March 1, 1900 [1] , or on January 10, 1901 [2] . He was closely acquainted with S. Seyfullin , I. Dzhansugurov , B. Maylin [1] .
In 1916, Shakir Abenov published his first poem in the Haykap magazine. Since 1936 it is published in periodicals [2] . His name became widely popular after the appearance of the poem “ Goats Corps - Bayan Sulu ” in the magazine “Debate the wife of art” in 1937. In the same year he was declared an “ enemy of the people ” and fled to neighboring Kyrgyzstan . Since 1939, having returned to Alma-Ata , he collected the literary heritage of the Kazakh akyns: Zhanak , Sabyrbay , Tubek , Dulat , Baikoksha . Performed songs and cui . In 1940–41, being the literary secretary of Zhambyl, he was falsely accused and imprisoned in the Semipalatinsk prison. At the beginning of World War II , he volunteered for the front, was wounded in the battle of Stalingrad, and returned to his homeland. In 1945, he was subjected to political repression and was exiled to Siberia. In 1955, released from prison, in 1961, completely rehabilitated. He died on October 23, 1994 [1] .
Shakir Abenov is a representative of the Abaev literary school of the Soviet period. Based on the historical events of the 19th century, he wrote the poems “Keypin Batyr” (1939), “Taңsher-Zhapal” (1962), “Ortak Aral” (1968), “Koryt kobyzy”, “Parmen”, “Patsha men baiyz”, “Aldankan” Kyz ”,“ Ana Mahabbaty ”,“ Totamys Batyr ”. The collections of zhyrs “Shygystau” (1980), “Shygystau sazy” (1985), “Dastandar” (1991) were printed. Abenov's improvisational art was manifested in his inspired performances in aitys. His contest with T. Amrenov was published in the collection Aitys (1968, vol. 3). He wrote over 20 songs and cuys: “Altai Aruy”, “Sary Zholdyz” and others [1] . Among the topics that he touched on in his works: civil war, Sovietization of villages, the establishment of female equality, collectivization, the fight against illiteracy [2] .
