Nobuyuki Sato ( 佐藤 信 之 Sato: Nobuyuki ) is a Japanese athlete who specialized in a marathon.

Biography

While studying at school, Sato played soccer, was a member of the school football team. In 7th grade, his schooling talent was noticed by school coach Fumi Nakano. Under his leadership, he began to compete. In 1987, he took 3rd place in the championship of Japan among primary school students in the 3000-meter race, his result is 8: 45.13. A little later, he switched to another coach, the former marathoner Kosiro Kawaguchi (his personal record in the marathon 2: 12.04). In 1990, he took 8th place in the 500m race at the Japanese Championship among high school students. After graduation, he entered Chuo University, in the city of Hachioji. His next major competition was the 1991 , over 200 kilometers long, on which Sato ran the 10th stage. As a result, the team of his university took 3rd place.

In 1996, he planned to make his debut at a marathon and perform at the Tokyo marathon , but due to an injury, he was forced to postpone the performance for 2 weeks. On December 1, 1996, he performed at the Fukuoka marathon, taking 16th place with a score of 2: 17.48.
