Biography
Born into a peasant family, Karel .
In 1917–1920, he worked as a mechanic at the railway depot of the Maselskaya station of the Murmansk railway .
In 1920 he volunteered for the Red Army . Member of the RCP (b) since 1922.
In 1920-1936 he served in the organs of the Cheka (OGPU) , in the border troops in Karelia.
He graduated from the Higher Border School of the OGPU in 1935.
Until August 1941, he worked as an assistant chief of the air defense of Petrozavodsk .
At the beginning of the Soviet-Finnish war (1941–1944), Senior Lieutenant I.A. Grigoriev fought as a platoon commander in the partisan detachment “Beat the Fascists”. For exemplary performance of combat missions of the commanders on the front of the struggle against the German and Finnish invaders and the valor and courage shown by the platoon leader of the “Fascist Bay” partisan detachment, Senior Lieutenant Ivan Ivanovich Grigoriev was awarded the Order of the Karelian Front No. 0119 / N from the Order of the Red Star December 1941.
From October 1941, he commanded the special purpose battalion of the Karelian Front , from February 1942 - Commander of the 1st Partisan Brigade.
From June 29 to August 25, 1942, a brigade consisting of 6 detachments with a total number of 648 people made a 650-kilometer raid on the enemy’s rear near Segozero and Porosozero lakes. On July 30, 1942, the brigade was surrounded in the region of Segozero forests. In the battle for the height of 264.9, I. A. Grigoriev was wounded four times, but continued to lead the detachment. When breaking out of the environment died. The commander of the 1st partisan brigade, Major Grigoriev, Ivan Antonovich, was awarded the Order of Lenin (posthumously).
He was buried in the village of Padany in a mass grave.
