Content
Geography
The village is located in the western part of the May district , on the left bank of the Urvan River. It is located 12 km west of the regional center - Maisky and 33 km northeast of the city of Nalchik .
It borders the lands of settlements: Oktyabrskoye in the north-east, Right-Urvan in the south, Koldrasinsky in the south-west, Novo-Kursky in the north-west and Baksansky in the north.
The village is located on the inclined Kabardian plain , in the flat zone of the republic. The average altitude in the village is 230 meters above sea level. The terrain is mainly a foothill plain. Along the floodplain of the Urvan River stretch small wooded heights and the remains of the burial mounds of the Middle Ages.
The hydrographic network is represented by the Urvan River, into which the left tributary of the White River flows into the south of the village. Due to the close occurrence of groundwater to the surface of the earth, the area is rich in water resources.
The climate in the village is humid and temperate. Summer is hot and semi-arid. The average air temperature in July reaches + 23 ° C. In August, absolute values often exceed the + 35 ° C mark. Winter is mild and lasts about three months. Frosts are short-lived, minimum temperatures rarely drop below −15 ° С. The average January temperature is -2.5 ° C. The average annual rainfall is about 620 mm.
History
In the spring of 1885, a group of peasant immigrants from the Poltava province of the Russian Empire arrived in Kabarda.
On March 18 of the same year, from Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Matveevich Tsuguliev, they bought a plot of land located near the village of Prishibskaya in hereditary possession. And the settlement based on the purchased plot was called Tsugulievsky by settlers.
On December 7, 1890, at the request of the settlers, the village they founded was renamed the village of Novo-Ivanovskoye.
On December 23, 1891, the Stavropol Treasury Chamber notified the regional board that the peasants in the amount of 27 families, according to the list, were included in the newly formed village of Novo-Ivanovskoye from June 1, 1891 .
In 1895, the village of Novo-Ivanovskoye with the villages of Baksansky, Novo-Kursky and the hamlets Dautovsky, Kolubeiko, Nosovich, Togulansky, Dzugaevsky - had 232 yards, with a population of 1116 people.
In 1920, with the establishment of Soviet power, Novo-Ivanovskoye was elected the village center of an educated village council, to which all nearby villages were subordinate.
During World War II , the village was occupied by German troops in October 1942 . Released in early January 1943 .
