Evdokimov Crater ( lat. Evdokimov ) - a large ancient impact crater in the northern hemisphere of the far side of the moon . The name was given in honor of the Russian and Soviet astronomer Nikolai Nikolaevich Evdokimov (1868-1940) and approved by the International Astronomical Union in 1970. The formation of the crater dates back to the nectar period [1] .

Crater Description
The immediate neighbors of the crater are the Everschedt Crater in the west; Kulik crater in the north-north-west; Gadom Crater in the east-north-east; Blazhko crater in the southeast and Van den Berg crater in the southwest [2] . Selenographic coordinates of the center of the crater , diameter 48.9 km [3] , depth 2.3 km [1] .
The crater has a polygonal shape, significantly destroyed over a long time of its existence. The shaft is smooth and fuzzy, most pronounced in the western and eastern parts. The shaft height above the surrounding area reaches 1120 m [1] , the volume of the crater is approximately 2,001 km³ [1] . The bottom of the bowl is relatively flat except for the rugged northern part. In the northeastern part of the bowl there is a noticeable bowl-shaped crater surrounded by discarded rocks with high albedo .
