Biography
Nikolai Nesterov was born on December 1, 1882 in Nizhny Novgorod [1] . The elder brother of the famous military pilot Pyotr Nesterov .
In early 1919, Nesterov went to serve in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army [1] .
Since 1937, Nesterov taught at the Military Academy named after M.V. Frunze , headed the department of logistics in it, and was approved as an assistant professor. During World War II, he repeatedly went on business trips to the army. The material collected and summarized by Nesterov formed the basis of a scientific collection devoted to the work of the rear during the Great Patriotic War. In addition, he was the author of a large number of other scientific works. Under his leadership, the rear department has become one of the leading departments of the Academy [1] .
He died on November 2, 1950, was buried at the Novodevichy cemetery in Moscow .
He was awarded the Order of Lenin , two Orders of the Red Banner , the Order of the Red Star and a number of medals.
