Spear Throwing
Before the start of the competition, the following highest achievements among the all-rounds in javelin throw were valid.
| World's highest achievement | Barbora Shpotakova ( Czech Republic ) | 60.90 m | Talence , France | September 16, 2012 |
| Highest European Achievement |
| The highest achievement of the European Championships | Antoinette Nana Jimu ( France ) | 55.82 m | Helsinki , Finland | July 30, 2012 |
As expected, Antoinette Nana Jimu won her crown look and took the lead. However, her advantage over the following Brursen before the final appearance was only 19 points. Nafissatu Tiam also lost a little, 51 points, but a low result in the 800-meter run actually deleted her from the fight for gold. The chances for bronze were very real: Caroline Schaefer, who rolled from first to fourth, needed to win back 74 points to get into the top three [10] [11] .

Final position
The title of European champion was successfully defended by Antoinette Nana Jim , while showing her best result of the season - 6551 points. For the Dutchwoman Nadine Brursen , who took second place, the year 2014 was a breakthrough: after the gold of the winter world championship in pentathlon in the summer she first set a personal record in the heptathlon (6536 points), and then won the European Championship silver (in the course of which she broke the national record in the jump in height). The first medal of adult international competitions was won by the young Nafissata Tiam from Belgium (her highest achievement in her career was the victory at the European Championship among juniors in 2013 ) [13] .
