Apraksin, Alexander Ivanovich

Count Alexander Ivanovich Apraksin ( December 7 (18), 1782 - July 9 (21), 1848 ) - colonel , freemason . Member of the Napoleonic Wars . The elder brother of Peter and Vasily Apraksin .

Biography

The son of Lieutenant General Count Ivan Alexandrovich Apraksin (1756-1818) from his marriage to maid of honor Maria Alexandrovna Waldstein (1756-1820). According to his father, the descendant of the steward Count A.M. Apraksin ; by mother - the great-nephew of Field Marshal P. A. Rumyantsev .

Received home education. Since October 8, 1798 he was enlisted as a clerk of the Provident College in the non-commissioned officer rank; October 15, 1798 was appointed a college actuary; September 10, 1799 - the executor of the 9th grade, September 28, 1800 - the commissioner of the 8th grade. In 1804 he was granted the chamber junker of the Court of His Imperial Majesty. In May 1807 he was admitted to the Izyum Hussar Regiment as headquarters captain, on December 11 of the same year he was promoted to captain . He was dismissed from military service with the abandonment of junkers on January 30, 1808.

In August 1812 he returned to service in the Izyum hussar regiment by the captain, and on November 19, 1812 he was transferred to the Life Guards Hussar Regiment . When Borodino was an adjutant to M. I. Kutuzov (awarded the Golden Sword ); in the battle of Maloyaroslavets was in the detachment of General M.I. Platov . In December 1812 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel ; in August 1813 - to the colonels .

He took part in the largest battles of the Russian army against the troops of Napoleon : at Vyazma , Dresden , Kulm , Leipzig . Participated in the capture of Paris . For military merit Apraksin was awarded the Russian and foreign orders: Order of St. Anne of the 4th degree; Order of St. Vladimir , 4th class; Austrian Order of Leopold 4 tbsp. and the Prussian Order of Pour le Merite . In January 1818, in connection with the disease, Apraksin was dismissed from military service. He was awarded the civil rank of full state councilor.

Seven years later he returned to service. In May 1822 he was enlisted as an official of special assignments at the Ministry of Finance, where he held various positions in the civilian department. On April 21, 1834 he was bestowed as Privy Councilor and Senator . According to Vyazemsky, the appointment of Apraksin to the Senate (which he had long wanted) was largely facilitated by the appearance in the light of his daughter Maria, who could enjoy her beauty at court [1] .

He was a member of the Board of Trustees of public charity institutions in St. Petersburg (1833-1848), trustee of the Kalinka and children's hospitals [2] . He was a member of the St. Petersburg Board of Trustees , managing the expedition of the loan treasury of the council, honorary guardian , vice president of the Society for Prison Care, honorary member of the Demidov House of Charity of Workers [3] [4] [5] .

Apraksin was a member of the Masonic lodge of the "Three Virtues" in St. Petersburg [6] , from 1807 until his death he was a member of the English Assembly , and in 1834 his foreman [7] . In 1820, Count Apraksin was a receiver during the transition to Orthodoxy of A.D. Blanc , Lenin’s grandfather. He owned a mansion on Palace Embankment, d. 16 .

He was buried in the Golitsyn church in the name of Archangel Michael in the Sergius desert near St. Petersburg [8] .

He was married to Maria Alexandrovna Shemyakina (03.25.1793-1872), the daughter of a court counselor, a farmer Alexander Nikitich Shemyakin (1765-1807) and Maria Ivanovna Apaishchikova (1771-07.04.1793) [9] . In marriage had children:

  • Maria Alexandrovna (1816–1892), maid of honor, since 1833 married to her cousin uncle, Prince S. A. Dolgorukov (1809–1891).
  • Ivan Alexandrovich (1818–1892), the stallmaster of the court, since 1842 he was married to the daughter of a senator , Evdokia Nikolaevna Nebolsina (1821–1886).
  • Alexander Alexandrovich (1820-1883), captain-lieutenant, adjutant of the Grand Duke Konstantin Nikolaevich ; married to second cousin, daughter of V. N. Ladomirsky , Sofya Vasilievna (1831-1880). Their daughters are maids of honor of the courtyard Sophia (1852-1919; wife of Prince N. S. Shcherbatov ) and Alexander (1853-1943; wife of V. S. Obolensky ).

  • Varvara Alexandrovna (1823-1826), buried in the Sergius desert.
  • Anna Alexandrovna (1827-1887), from 1845 she was married to Count Eduard Karlovich Sievers (1820-1900), divorcing him, in 1858 married the Portuguese envoy, Viscount, then Count Lob de Moira (1810-1868), according to a contemporary, he was "a universal favorite of St. Petersburg, such a purely southern courtesy, lively, quick, not forced at all, to meet in our north is not easy, and all this mobility was given a special comic charm by the fat figure of the talkative Portuguese" [10] . Countess Anna de Moyer was the mistress of the salon, in which the entire high society of St. Petersburg gathered and was attended by Emperor Alexander II himself ; her name, along with Princess M. Vyazemskaya and Princess Gagarina, appeared in the “story with three ladies, ” when in 1880 the emperor turned to them, so that they would be the first of the court ladies to visit Princess Yuryevskaya . In the last years of her life she suffered from eyes and was protected from light by a hand-held screen, she was buried next to her husband in the Sergiev desert .
