Nikolai Karlovich Senger ( 1841 , Moscow - October 31 [ November 12 ] 1877 , Moscow) - zoologist , curator of the Zoological Museum of Moscow University , secretary of the Moscow Society of Natural History Lovers , one of the founders of the Polytechnic Museum in Moscow.

Biography
Nikolai Karlovich Senger was born in the family of the owner of the court pharmacy Karl Petrovich Senger and his wife Catherine Ilyinichna (nee Cuba ). He graduated from the 4th Moscow gymnasium with a gold medal and the right to enter Moscow University without exams, where he entered the natural department of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics .
After graduating from university with a gold medal for his essay on botany (1862), he specially engaged in the study of invertebrates . In 1863 he was elected the caretaker (keeper) of the Zoological Museum of Moscow University , which was enriched with his efforts (collections of animals from the White Sea , the Baltic and the North ). He was a member of the Society of lovers of natural sciences and his secretary; in the “Izvestia Sotsialii” , the editor of which he was, published: “On the larva of Gracilaria syringella in the leaves of lilac” (1866, v. III), “On the spider from the genus Latrodectes, delivered from Crimea” (ibid.), “On insects, found in stale flour ”(ibid.),“ On slugs harmful to winter fields ”(vol. XXIV, issue 2), etc. In addition, Senger translated Zoological Letters by Yeager ,“ Identifier of Insects ”by A. Karsch (“ Insect World ", 1888) and the work of Perti " Psychological Life of Animals ", and in the" Proceedings of the II Congress of Naturalists "published an article" On the Baltic representatives of the Geph group yrea: Halieryptus and Priapulus ”and“ Peripatus Capensis and Peripatus Leuckartii ”.
For his collection of beetles harmful to agriculture, with the presentation of the stages of development of some of them, he was awarded a silver medal from the Society of Agriculture at the 1865 exhibition.
He took an active part in the creation of the Polytechnic Museum in Moscow (his portrait is in the museum itself and in the museum of the museum), for which he was awarded several government awards. He was elected secretary of the Polytechnic Museum.

He was buried at the Vvedensky (German) cemetery in Moscow. The monument is from a society of science lovers.
