Nikolai Maksimovich Tulaykov ( July 26 ( August 7 ), 1875 , Akshuat, Karsun Uyezd , Simbirsk province [1] - January 20, 1938) - Russian scientist - agronomist and soil scientist, academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences (1932) and VASKHNIL (1935), laureate of the Prize named after V.I. Lenin (1929).

Biography
Born in the family of a poor peasant. He studied at school with. Kensha in the Gorodishchensky district of the Penza province . He graduated from the Saransk city four-year school, the Mariinsky agricultural school in the city of Tatishchevo ( Saratov region ).
In 1898-1901, a student at the Moscow Agricultural Institute (diploma with honors). Left at the Department of Soil Science by a supernumerary graduate student. Conducted soil and geobotanical survey in the Tver province, the Caucasus, in northern Kazakhstan.
In 1908-1910 on a business trip to the United States ( California , Nevada , Arizona , New Mexico , Wyoming , Colorado ), Canada, Germany, Italy, Holland, England.
Since 1910, director of the Bezenchuk experimental station (now the Samara Research Institute of Agriculture named after N. M. Tulaykov ). In 1916-1920, Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Department of Agriculture of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.
In 1920-1932, professor, head. Department of Private Agriculture of the Saratov Agricultural Institute and Head. field cultivation department of the Saratov experimental station. Since 1929, director of the All-Russian Research Institute of Grain Management. One of the organizers and in 1929-1935 vice-president of VASKHNIL .
Laureate of the prize named after V.I. Lenin (1929), academician of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1932) and the All-Union Agricultural Academy (1935), Honored Worker of Science and Technology (1929).
He is the author of over 400 printed scientific papers on agriculture, dry farming, plant physiology, agrochemistry, soil science and crop production.
Member of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee of the 9th and 14th convocations, candidate member of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee of the 13th convocation, candidate member of the Central Executive Committee of the USSR of the 5th convocation.
In August 1937 he was arrested, died in the Solovetsky camps (according to other sources, he was shot in the Saratov prison).

Streets in Saratov and in the village of Tabola in the city of Kamyzyak, Astrakhan Region, are named after N. M. Tulaykov. Settlement "Tulaykovo" Ershov district of the Saratov region.
