Tournament History

The second division of the World Ice Hockey Championship among junior teams has succeeded the group C of the European Championship among junior teams and two tournaments of the First Division of the European Championship among juniors - the First Division of the European Championship in 1999 and the First Division of the European Championship in 2000 . In the first championship of the second division, which was held in Lithuania, the junior teams of Poland, France, Estonia, Slovenia, Hungary, Great Britain, Lithuania and Croatia participated. The first winner of the tournament was the Slovenian team.

Tournament Rules

In 2003, the division was divided into two groups: Group A and Group B, each of which played 6 teams. The winners of the groups moved to the first division , and those who won last places moved to the third division . In 2012, the transition order was changed. In Group A, the winner moved to Group B of the First Division, and the team that finished last in Group B of the Second Division. In Group B, the winner moved to Group A of the Second Division, and the team that finished last in Group A of the Third Division.
