Alex Marquez Alenta ( Spanish Álex Márquez Alentá ; born April 23, 1996 , Servers , Catalonia , Spain ) is a Spanish motorcycle racer , a participant in the World Motorcycle Ring Championship in the Moto3 class. The younger brother of Marc Marquez .

In the history of the Grand Prix motorcycle racing, the brothers have never won two championships in one year. Brothers Alex and Marc Marquez were the first to succeed.
Career
Alex's professional career began in 2012 . In his first season, the Spaniard performed at the 11 Grand Prix on a Suter Honda motorcycle and earned 27 points.
In 2013, Marquez joined the Estrella Galicia 0.0 team, which then performed on the KTM motorcycle. It was clear that he would fight for the title, but at that time he still did not have enough experience, because of which the young Spaniard was too much mistaken.
According to the results of the championship, Alex took the fourth position, rising 5 times to the podium.
In 2014, Estrella Galicia 0.0, not without a share of risk, switched to Honda motorcycles, for which this was the first experience in a junior class. As it turned out later, according to the results of the Cup of designers, the risk was justified: Honda motorcycles were not inferior to KTM at all ( KTM and Honda have the same number of points).
From the very beginning, Marquez showed that he was ready to fight for the title. Compared with last year, the Spaniard began to perform much more stable, rising to the podium 10 times, which is two times more than in 2013.
The main rival of Alex was Jack Miller, who took the initiative from the first races, but in the second half of the season the Spaniard gathered and went ahead in the championship.
Before the start of the last stage of 2014, Marquez and Miller shared only 11 points. To maintain a leading position in the championship, Alex had to finish at least the third position. He finished just in third position and won the 2014 Moto3 World Championship title.
Currently stands for the Estrella Galicia 0.0 team and (on October 2, 2014 ) leads the championship in the Moto3 class.
On September 1, 2014, it was officially announced that Alex Marquez signed a 2-year contract with the Marc VDS Racing team in the Moto2 class.
