Geography
It is located about 2 versts southeast of the village of Toropaca on the shores of Lake Klescy .
History
At the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries, the village was part of the Kholmsky district of the Pskov province. In the list of populated areas of the Pskov province, two villages Kurtsevo 1st and Kurtsevo 2nd are indicated. Because Kurtsevo 2nd was located on the shore of Lake Klescy, then it is visible and corresponds to a modern village. [2] . On the plans of the general land surveying of the Kholmsky district of 1792 and on the sheet IX-10 of the “Schubert maps” of 1871, only one village of Kurtsevo is designated on the site of the modern one. Therefore, most likely under Kurtsevo 1st was meant some other neighboring village.
