Description

Small beetles with a narrow body and long mustache; Brown color. Body length from 5 to 15 mm (with a width of 2 to 4 mm). It differs from related genera in the third segment of the antennae, which is distinctly longer than the scape . The eyes are roughly beveled. Mandibles are small, pointed. The genus was first isolated in 1840 by the English entomologist and botanist Edward Newman ( Edward Newman ; 13.V.1801 - 12.VI.1876) [1] [3] [2] .
