Crater Draper ( lat. Draper ) - a small impact crater in the southern part of the Sea of Rains on the visible side of the moon . The name was given in honor of the American astronomer Henry Draper (1837-1882) and approved by the International Astronomical Union in 1935.

Crater Description
The immediate neighbors of the crater are the Pithaeus crater in the north-northeast; Eratosthenes crater in the east-southeast; Gay-Lussac Crater in the south and Mayer T. Crater in the west-south-west. To the west of the crater is Draper’s furrow , to the south lies the Carpathian mountains , to the east are the Apennines [1] . Selenographic coordinates of the center of the crater , diameter 8.3 km [2] , depth 1.74 km [3] .
The crater has a circular bowl shape. A shaft with a sharp edge and a smooth wide inner slope descending to the center of the bowl. The northeastern part of the shaft is marked by a small noticeable crater. The shaft height above the surrounding area reaches 300 m [4] , the volume of the crater is approximately 20 km³ [4] . The bottom of the bowl has a spherical shape. According to morphological characteristics, the crater belongs to the ALC type (according to the name of a typical representative of this type - Al-Battani Crater C ).
