Maida, Louis

Luis Maida began to engage in bullet shooting in 1998. Two years later, she was able to qualify for participation in the Sydney Olympics . There she took part in two types of programs , but both in shooting from a pneumatic pistol and in shooting from a pistol at a distance of 25 meters she took far places.

In 2001, the Salvadoran athlete won bronze at the continental championship in pneumatic pistol shooting, and four years later she won a silver medal in the same discipline.

At the 2007 Pan American Games, Maida won bronze and silver in pistol and air gun shooting, respectively, and qualified for the 2008 Olympics .

In Beijing, she took a modest 34th place in pneumatic pistol shooting . Much more successfully, she performed in firing a pistol at a twenty-five-meter distance . In qualification, she scored 582 points and went to the final competition with a sixth result. But in the final, her performance was not particularly successful: the athlete’s best shot was 10.5, and in one of the shots she scored 6.6 points. This did not allow her to fight for medals, and with the result of 774.0 she took the last, 8th place in the final.
