The “ Red Hacker Alliance ” ( Chinese Red Hacker Alliance , Chinese. 中国 红 客 联盟 ) is an informal association of Chinese hackers , the number of which, according to some estimates, is more than 80,000, making it one of the largest hacker groups in the world [1 ] . According to Russian experts in the field of information security V. Ovchinsky and E. Larina, the “Red Hackers Alliance” is an informal but managed by the PRC authorities network that includes hackers not only from China itself, but also from the Chinese diaspora around the world, closely interacting with the Third and the Fourth Directorate of the PLA General Staff , which conduct cyber espionage and organize cyber attacks [2] . In December 2004, the Alliance closed its website and showed no signs of activity until March 2005, when the site was resumed [3] . According to Australia Computer World and InformationWeek , members of the Alliance participated in the preparation of a DOS attack on CNN.com on April 19, 2008 [4] [5] .
