Biography

Born in the village of Shipunovo, Altai Territory. In 1950 he graduated from school in Barnaul, in 1956 - the faculty of aircraft of the Kazan Aviation Institute (diploma with honors). He was left in graduate school, in 1959 he defended his thesis.

He worked at the Kazan Aviation Institute. From 1956 to 1968 - assistant, associate professor of the Department of Theoretical Mechanics, in 1968-1972 the head of the Department of Higher Mathematics. In 1972 he created the Department of Cybernetics and headed it until 1975.

In 1968 he defended the dissertation of a doctor of physical and mathematical sciences. Professor (1970).

In 1975, at the invitation of the Director of the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences G.I. Marchuk, he moved to Irkutsk. He worked as the department head, deputy director of the institute. At the same time in 1975-1991 head. Department of Applied Mathematics, Irkutsk State University. In 1980-1991, the first director of the Irkutsk Computing Center of the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences, in the creation of which he took a direct part.

Topics of scientific research - the development of basic concepts of the abstract theory of control and the construction of mathematical models of process systems of various nature, the technology of mathematical modeling, the solution of problems of dynamics and control based on a set of software packages.

Since 1976, a corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Sciences in the Department of Mechanics and Control Processes, in 1987 he was elected an academician in the Department of Problems of Mechanical Engineering, Mechanics and Control Processes.

Since 1991, director of the Moscow branch of the Institute for Transport Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences (since 1996 - Center for Stability and Nonlinear Dynamics Studies at the A. A. Blagonravov Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Russian Academy of Sciences).

In 1994-2001, head of the Center for Modeling Sustainable Development of the Society at the Institute for Social and Political Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

In 1998-2003 teacher, head. Department of Mathematical Cybernetics of the Moscow Aviation Institute. Sergo Ordzhonikidze, Professor, Department of Methodology of Sociological Problems, Moscow State University M.V. Lomonosov.

For a series of works “Exploration of the Lyapunov method of vector functions for stability analysis and other dynamic properties of nonlinear systems” (published in 1962–1981) he was awarded the USSR State Prize in the field of science and technology (1984). He was awarded the Order of Friendship of Peoples (1988), "Badge of Honor" (1981), Honor (2004).
