La Esponga , La Esponja ( Cat. La Esponja ) or Esponga [1] - a small uninhabited island in the Mediterranean Sea , is one of the islands of the archipelago of the Cabrera archipelago , which is part of the Balearic Islands ( Spain ). Administratively refers to the municipality of Palma de Mallorca .

Located 3 km north of the largest island of the archipelago - Cabrera [2] . The area of the island is 0.44 ha [3] , the perimeter of the surface is 318 m [3] , the width is 40 m, and the length is 130 m [2] . The highest point is located at an altitude of 24 m above sea level [3] . It has an elongated shape, oriented from the northwest to the southeast. The banks are steep. The nearest neighboring islands are Ilya des Conils (465 m to the south), Na Plana (450 m to the northeast) [3] .
The island is part of the Cabrera Archipelago National Park , a unique endemic plant species growing on its territory [4] .
