Dmitry Yermolayevich Kochetkov ( August 22, 1905 - June 27, 1967 ) - Soviet military leader, figure in the field of mechanical engineering and tank building , deputy People's Commissar of the tank industry of the USSR ( 1944 - 1946 ), deputy People's Commissar (since 1946 - deputy minister ) of transport engineering of the USSR ( 1942 - 1950 ). Biography
Born in Arkadak (now the Saratov region). In 1927 he graduated from the Saratov Industrial College , after which in 1928 he joined the CPSU (B.) .
From 1931 to 1940, the head of the shops and the assistant director of the 1st State Automobile Plant named after I.V. Stalin (ZIS, later - the automobile plant named after I.A. Likhachev ) in Moscow . In 1940 he headed the transport engineering plant number 75 in Kharkov . In 1941, the plant was evacuated to Sverdlovsk (now Yekaterinburg ) and began its work on the industrial site of the Ural Turbine Plant . Kochetkov continued to lead the enterprise in evacuation, being appointed director of the newly formed plant No. 76 of the People’s Commissariat for Tank Industry of the USSR (since 1948 - the Ural Turbomotor Plant ).
Under the leadership of Dmitry Kochetkov, during the years of World War II , the plant mastered the serial production of tank diesel engines for T-34 and. The country's leadership highly appreciated the work of the plant’s employees - in accordance with the decrees of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 5, 1942 and of January 20, 1943, for the exemplary fulfillment of government tasks, plant No. 76 of the USSR NKTP was awarded the Orders of Lenin and the Red Banner of Labor .
On January 20, 1943, by a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR for outstanding services in organizing the production, design and improvement of tanks and skillful management of the plant, Dmitry Ermolaevich Kochetkov was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Hammer and Sickle Medal . He became the first employee of the plant number 76 NKTP USSR, awarded this high rank.
In 1944, Kochetkov was appointed deputy People's Commissar of the tank industry of the USSR, in 1945 he was also transferred to the People’s Commissariat of Transport Engineering of the USSR to the post of Deputy Commissar. In 1946, when the ministries were formed in the USSR, he retained his post instead of the people's commissariats, until 1950, holding the post of Deputy Minister of Transport Engineering of the USSR.
Dmitry Kochetkov died in 1967 .

- On May 6, 1985, in Yekaterinburg , in memory of Dmitry Kochetkov, a memorial plaque was installed on the house in which he lived from 1941 to 1943 (Krasnoflotsev Street, 7) [2] [3] .
