"Syrian resistance" ( Arabic. المقاومة السورية , Al Muqāwamat al-Sūriyah, the abbreviation TSR is used in English sources) - an armed group operating mainly in northwestern Syria. The declared ideology of TSR is Marxism-Leninism and Syrian civic nationalism. Unlike other Syrian left-wing movements (such as the NKKDP ), the TSR is loyal to the government of Bashar al-Assad.

Despite the fact that the TSR is officially a secular and non-religious group, its opponents claim that in fact it is an armed organization of the Syrian Alawites . The leader of the TSR is , an ethnic Turk, Alawite and Syrian citizen who was once a member of the left-wing radical organization THKP-C / DKB .
