Biography
In 1909 he was appointed firewall (i.e., chief) of the fire brigade of the St. Petersburg Trade Port. Since 1917 - the head of the fire brigade of the Arkhangelsk port.
In May 1918, he led the creation of an experimental fire station at the Ulyanka estate near St. Petersburg on the basis of a fire station arranged by the former owner of the estate Count A. D. Sheremetev . In the fall of 1918 he was appointed a teacher of fire prevention at the courses of red firemasters at the Petrograd Fire Technical School, and later taught a course of fire tactics at the Petrograd Fire Technical Institute.
Since 1924 he taught fire prevention at the Leningrad Fire College . In the same year, he became the editor-in-chief of the new magazine “Fire Engineering” [3] .
In 1926, he formulated the actual and currently tasks of the fire inspection, among which was the establishment of qualified general supervision of compliance with fire safety, the development of fire-technical standards and rules, research to classify various materials from the point of view of fire hazard, and others [4] . In 1931 he published a two-volume textbook, “Fire Prevention as set out in relation to the course of the Fire Technical School,” which became fundamental work for the relevant discipline [5] .
Since 1932 - graduate student of the Research Institute of Public Utilities (NIIKH) [6] . Since 1934 he worked at the Research Institute of Civil Engineering.
In the late 1930s, he was repressed [7] .
