Drogobych district - the administrative-territorial unit of the USSR December 4, 1939 - January 17, 1940
Background
On September 28, 1939, the Treaty of Friendship and the Border between the USSR and Germany was signed, according to which the territory of the Lviv Voivodeship was divided between these states and Drohobych County became part of the territory occupied by the USSR troops.

History
On December 4, 1939, in connection with the formation of the Lviv and Drogobych regions of the Ukrainian SSR, the Lviv Voivodeship , formed in the Polish Republic , ceased to exist. As part of the Drogobych region, a new Drogobych district was created with its center in the city of Drohobych within its former borders, but with other governing bodies.
January 10, 1940 at the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party (b) U, the issue of creating, including the districts of the Drogobych region, among which was the Drohobych district, was discussed.
On January 17, 1940, by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, the Drogobych district of 1940 was formed as part of the Drogobych region.
